Apex Drifter's 911 GT3 RC Drift Car

This is going to be a Christmas gift for my 11 year old son. It looks cool, has working headlights, rechargeable car battery, and drift and racing tires. It checks off all the boxes for a fun boy gift. I really like how the cars come with rechargeable batteries now. We used to go through so many batteries when my older boys had RC cars. These cars are always so fun to play with outside. I'm not sure of the durability yet, but I'm hopeful the compact design will keep it from getting too damaged outdoors.

First tip - make sure the intended user of this car knows what 'drifting' is! This RC car works great on smooth flat surfaces as intended, but doesn't do as well on thicker carpet, etc. The tires are slick and smooth so you can slide it around and the younger kids that played with this initially didn't understand that. It comes assembled, just add batteries to the controller and charge up the included rechargeable battery (has two) for the car. The battery charger glows when charging and when done. One annoyance is needing to use a screwdriver to get into the battery compartments. Lighting on the car is cool, both headlights and underbody glow. Car is sufficiently fast for a budget RC car and drifts easily. Steering is not proportional, it just turns fully one way, straight or fully another way. Looks super cool, just like a big Porsche!

It's pretty good, for the money. My hands are big so it's a bit smallish for or kids and regular hands it should fit well. It comes with 2 batteries so you can use one and charge one. The charger is small and weak so it takes longer to recharge than the replacement battery lasts. It's not terribly fast but, again, it's a begging car and will last longer without hyper speed. The head lights and under boy lights look great. The two sets of wheels let you switch between drift and treaded rubber, you can drift or run the included cones or make a drift track. It's got a max speed of about 12mph which sounds slow but in small models, that's a lot to drive. I've bumped this one up a couple of times with no visible damage.
